The rubber seal is a freshness-saving closure to avoid spilling or evaporating the perfume.

To refill the scented applicator just dip the tip in your favorite perfume or essential oil for about a minute; this will cause the tip to swell and absorb the scent. Inside the main body of the pen there is another wick which serves to absorb excess perfume.

It is important not to overfill the pen, it must be allowed to absorb the tip, if it is overfilled it can cause leakage.
